Liberal patience in talking Republicans down from ledges will stop when children start dying in larger numbers. At that point, when someone is brave enough to label the unvaccinated without a legitimate medical reason--and their enabling political leaders--as accessories to the murder (yes, murder) of children, tunes will start changing fast.

My prediction is this will occur most vehemently in the southern U.S., notwithstanding its political recalcitrance. By way of example, Florida is only at the cliff's edge as its infection numbers sore over the next 4 to 6 weeks (and possibly higher). ICUs filled with children will not be a good look.

Once children infection, hospitalization and death rates start to rise, it won't be long before states with mask mandates and lower spread rates will bar residents and visitors from hot spot states. The first state to make that move will likely open the floodgates for the other low spread-rate states. It only takes one governor to say "Just because some states won't protect their children doesn't mean we won't. If you're coming to New Jersey from Florida, don't bother. You can stay right where you are."

Kinda feel like democrats are incapable of playing offense. It's sad...and it harms us a great deal. Dems are forever on defense - reacting - calling liars liars is the obvious neutralizer but it took Democrats YEARS to finally stop being polite (and outraged. )
