I think the mainstream media is composed of a self-regarding bunch that deludes itself in equating the supposed horrors of the "cancel" culture with the full-on fascism of DJT, Bill Barr, and Fox News. It's a form of supreme arrogance that they can judge the minor follies of the woke proletariat and thereby say it's no different from the blunt authoritarianism that Republicans are broadcasting everywhere.
Last time I checked, no one from the cancel culture has been running over peaceful protesters with their cars, assaulting innocent shoppers with Covidiocy, or screaming at pedestrians who are just minding their own business. That the media still tut-tuts the Left but can't acknowledge the deadly risk of reactionary, violent racism says everything about the media's moral vacuum.
It's both absurd and obscene that the MSM can't see it will be next in line for destruction if the fascists gain further control of the federal government. If you read the bland assessments of Hitler by the NYT and other media organs in the 1920's and 1930's, it's the same stupidity that let the Nazis get away with genocide and the destruction of democracy then and now.
