I can't help but think that, if any of these allegations had occurred and Obama were the candidate/President instead of Trump, we wouldn't be having hearings. Instead, Obama (sadly just for the "crime" of birth while black) would have been burned at the stake on the White House for all to see like a Taliban beheading in the soccer stadium.

The USA is now more formally bifurcated than its ever been. Bill Clinton was impeached for getting a blowjob and lying about it under oath (I don't advocate the latter though I still say it was immoral and stupid, not a Constitutional breach of national security); Trump obstructed justice both as a candidate and President and gets a free pass. What's the difference? Democrats are held to account for their "sins." Republicans are no longer eligible to be held to account for their alleged crimes because [Repbulican] presidents are above the law.

Seriously, can you have this same series of events and outcomes if Hillary Clinton has been accused of all these crimes? Welcome to the United States of Untouchable Republicans and Forever Guilty Democrats.

Remember that catchphrase "proud to be an American"? Are YOU still?

I think these clowns have deluded themselves that they are above the grubby business of politics. As such, they can pretend they can cast supposedly neutral yet moral judgement on all politicians and political parties while considering themselves more intelligent than the average person. They radiate contemptuous boredom with the equally (in their minds) deficient moral weaknesses in both Democrats and Republicans. That's why they can't see the clear moral differences between the parties. The ONLY way they will be shaken out of their complacency is when one of them gets physically attacked by someone or a mob riled up by the oval office occupant or when their own rights are brutally violated by this administration.
