I was on the Right long enough to see that they do love their "tokens" that they can occasionally trot out to prove that they're "not racist". Otherwise, they best know their place.

"Viewed from the right, the country is fine."

I like working in old cars, mine is from 1957. It's a hobby full of nostalgia. A lot of those guys long for the "good old days". But it doesn't take a person long, when looking at all those old photographs they pass around, to see that the "good old days" certainly were.... white.

There is systemic racism in the U.S. Does that imply that it's a racist country? It's a matter of semantics. Ron DeSantis--a major enactor of systemic racism--says that systemic racism is horse manure. Tim Scott was cagey and took it to the extreme and absolute form of "racist country". Had he said there's no systemic racism, it would have been easy to contradict him. Biden and Harris should have led with the truth--there is systemic racism--and then talked about what needs to be done and what they plan to do to achieve it.
