One of the other considerations is the senate. Even if we get a dem president, to get key legislation passed on health care, climate change, gun control, inequality, etc, we need to flip the senate blue (ie gain 3+ seats). So, in this regard, I am concerned about Bernie. It's not because of his policies - it's the label, democratic "socialist". Why? A true story:

As an engineering manager at Intel (now retired), I would explain: In engineering, reality trumps perception. In marketing, perception trumps reality. Whenever I said this to a marketing group, there was always one marketeer, who would comment, "Fred, you don't understand - Perception is reality."

And, of course, politics is all about creating and selling "perceptions". If "reality" mattered, the senate would have voted Trump guilty, and he would have been removed from office.
