I agree with what you've written here. One thing I'd add is that since it has become, um, fashionable to refer to some people as Black and Brown, I'd like to see writers and commentators refer to "white" people as "pink" people. Of course many spoke of the former president as "orange" but I've never seen non rotten citrus fruit the color of that traitor. Seems to me if those of us who put a check mark on racist questionnaires by the word "white" might begin to feel a lot more honest, as uncomfortable as that might be, if the word "white" were left off questionnaires and the word "pink" were placed thereupon.
