Dude, you know better. "(“Reopening” as soon as possible will improve the economy, which is thought to be better for Trump.)"

Please stop repeating that. Reopening too soon won't help the economy, either. It's just sacrificing lives for nothing.

Wile_E_Quixote approximately said what I was planning to, John. "“Reopening” as soon as possible is thought to improve the economy, which is thought to be better for Trump," as a statement, is completely untenable. We must point that out repeatedly.

Italy's "relaxed" lockdown is basically our "full" lockdown. Their lockdown drove case counts down while ours (maybe) held cases flat. Trump's WH revealed this morning that they anticipate upward deaths p/day this week into the future... there is NO ECONOMIC improvement in covering up this insanity.

Great article. Well written. We've known for years that the GOP is anti-democracy and anti-American. I haven't forgotten the disgraceful behavior of the Republicans AND the FBI when the domestic terrorists trashed the Malhuer Refuge. And I certainly haven't forgotten that the Republicans had the chance to haul the trash to the curb, and they didn't. And now they look the other way as 70,000 American corpses pile up on the White House veranda.

Very well stated. This 40-year MAGA-Trend must be stopped.

He's saying OUR lives are cheap anyway. When I think about the number of people who have died and the number to come, I think in terms of the population of my hometown, Rockford, Illinois (home of the Rockford Peaches, whose existence overlapped mine by just about 4 years). Rockford's population is 156,596, and that's a highly possible number of deaths for us to reach. It helps me keep it personal.
