Said in a surely smug and well fed manner. I wonder if John’s a liberal...considering his interactions with folks like Rod Graham???? These white racist have no low, even if it means enabling the worst of people.

You’re the clown. You don’t deserve to be called a Meemaw, you racist twit.

What is racist about criticizing an activist journalist who seems to have a most tenuous relationship with truth coupled with the intellectual depravity of Howard Zinn? White liberals love throwing the word racism around, it absolves them of actually doing the things the ideology they signed up for would require.

Yeah, but she does not have a tenuous relationship from the truth. When one claims such a thing without having done the work of thinking through such a thing, yeah, that probably has something to do with racism. But one can decide to think it through!

Why in the world was anybody surprised by this? This is the same school that conspired to deny mostly black athletes a meaningful education for 20+ years while exploiting their athletic abilities then told the NCAA they should not be punished. I missed the demand for justice from anyone within UNC for that. So now we get a Pulitzer winner and oh the outrage! And there should be, but certain kinds of outrage are in vogue in Chapel Hill. Others are not. I can’t help but think this was much more important to the image UNC faculty wanted to project, hence the outcry.

Wait. The fact you mentioned is lamentable and shameful. It bears no correlation to NHJ. Her Pulitzer has been contested vigorously by esteemed black intellectuals and everyone else who isn’t a woketard. Her historical misrepresentations and contortions + Twitter behavior are atrocious.

You are a low energy snake to think this. Probably just another white man trying to hide his sins by appearing tolerant and open.

Not to mention that tenure never has been owed to anyone or in most cases freely given due to political consideration despite your apparent canonization of her.

Just to be clear, I think she obviously should have been hired with tenure. And with all due respect, my comment has everything to do with the decision. She did not step into a vacuum. A history proceeds her and the silence of the entire UNC community when the school weaseled out of punishment for a decades long plantation style conspiracy should have been met with outrage. I urge black leaders to call for repentance for that and the wickedness that drove it long before any outrage is expressed of NHJ. She will be better off at a place that really appreciates her.
