OH YES. Barro is a featured pundit on an inaccurately-named radio show on my local NPR station called "Left, Right, and Center." There is no Left and the Center does not hold, but because they call it that, people think this is the spectrum of thought in our community. Each week features Very Serious Debate among a bunch of white men.

The "Very Serious Debate Club". Shouldn't it be called the Very Serious Opinion Club? Because I haven't seen a REAL debate in decades and I doubt any of these fools could pull one off.

Someone already mentioned it but if you want to hear Barro's "peak vapid" listen to "Left, Right, and Center" on KCRW- the NPR station in Santa Monica. Warning: After the show you will be stupider.

In other words, the Very Serious People basically engage in "Seinfeld" commentary i.e, Punditry About Nothing. And that's what they contribute to the necessary and vital discourse to save democracy - Nothing.
