The GOP continues to tell on itself time and time again. The party will argue that our country and it’s laws aren’t racist in away way, shape, or form while openly protecting the country’s original sin of slavery and bigotry and eagerly destroying any landmark triumph that made America more equitable, fair, and democratic. Republicans believe the Constitution is a perfect document, and that should frighten everyone.
As a youngster I wrote letters to Kennedy and later Johnson. Ten years later when Ford let Nixon walk, the scales fell from my eyes. Even as a teen I knew that move was just flat out wrong. Then we got Reagan (hostage crisis meddling to get elected and then Iran-Contra, which Barr let THEM skate out on) and it's been all downhill since.
