The issue is essentially economic. If the pro-life movement had to guarantee that it would economically support women for the entirety of the proposed fetus' "life," its pro-life position would quickly evaporate, revealing the misogyny and hypocrisy at the movement's core.

Actually, John, the first argument you make, that "pro-life" forces one person's access to a woman's body against her will is a sort of rape is not ridiculous. True-blue religious conservatives don't really think rape is a thing. Remember Todd Akins? To go all Old Testament on the issue, rape is actually theft of a woman's sexual value from whatever man who happens to own her.

Second point...the hardest-line anti-abortion Stace IS pro-murder. No e ceptions, no even for the life of the mother. A depressingly large fraction of Fundies believe that. Even more support it in their hearts, even if they too cowardly to say such an awful thing out loud.

Modern conservatism is built on a lot of lies (after all, it is neither modern nor conservative; it is radical and regressive). But "pro-life" is the biggest lie of all.
